Rijeka's beach Ploče located below the new pool complex Kantrida was awarded in Dubrovnik as the best beach in the project "Tourist Flower - Quality for Croatia 2012". Ploče was named the best in the category of urban/local beaches, in the project organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy.

The Astronomical Centre Rijeka is organising this year’s Dark Sky Week, an event taking place from 17^th until 20^th April 2012. A presentation called Rhythm of Life – Modern Technologies for Development and Environmental Protection will be held in the Great Hall. Visitors will also have the possibility of seeing Best Astrophotography, an exhibition held in the premises of the Centre, under the auspices of the British Council in Croatia. We would like to remind you that April 2012 has been declared Global Astronomy Month.  

The Project "Integrated Marketing Communications and Programme Strategy for the Astronomical Centre Rijeka" has been included in the "Main Plan and Strategy of Tourism Development in the Republic of Croatia", which is currently being developed. The Strategy of the Astronomical Centre Rijeka has become part of the "Main Plan and Strategy of Tourism Development in the Republic of Croatia" as one of the projects awarded at the "CBTour-innovations in business tourism" contest.
