City of Rijeka and Croatian synchronized swimming association and City of Rijeka and Croatian swimming association signed the contracts on co-organizing European junior synchronized swimming championship and European junior diving championship.
The contracts signed Mayor of the city of Rijeka, Vojko Obersnel, president of Croatian swimming federation, Ivan Varvodić and president of Croatian synchronized swimming federation, Gordana Furjan Mandić.
European junior synchronized swimming championship will take place during June 22 to 26, the countries participating are: Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Israel, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Hungary, Netherlands, Russia, Slovakia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine and United Kingdom..
European junior diving championship will take place from June 28 to July 3, 2016, the countries participating Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Croatia, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and United Kingdom.
Beside the mentioned competitions, in 2016 Swimming Pools Kantrida will host two more European championships, European Master Championship in Open Water Swimming, September 8 -10, and European Master Championship in Water Polo, September 10 -18, 2016.
Since the opening of the complex until today, Swimming Pools Kantrida hosted 1.961 water polo matches, 421 swimming competitions, 152 synchronized swimming competitions and 34 diving competitions.
